Alexander McQueen is Back Home

Last night, Sarah Burton brought McQueen back to London for the first time in 14 years, kicking off London Fashion Week with one of her most romantic collections to date.
Fusing together romantic chiffons dusted with glittering gemstones and traditional tailoring, on which the brand is based, the collection illustrated the night-time McQueen creature, floating between her sweet dreams and reality. Butterflies, timepieces, moons, stars and unicorns adorned oversized sartorial jackets with lapel sashes and transparent silk organza gowns. Glittering headpieces were weaved into wispy, tousled hair and chains decked with charms dripped from the collar bones.
The collection was ethereally and nostalgically moving. So moving, in fact, that rumours of Burton moving to Dior were heard. Nevertheless, the show highlighted her exceptional tailoring, couture-worthy craftsmanship and the transportive vision, in which we pine for from the master McQueen.
For more on the McQueen AW16 fashion show, we love Lisa Armstrong from The Telegraph.
